Kabila | Hashgraph - The Hedera Developer Playground

The Kabila platform is known for its DApps and Tools that empower NFT creators and communities.

With a Wallet, a Launchpad, a Marketplace, the Plazas, the Academy, and more than 10 different tools, it’s got everything for Tokenized Communities in one place.

But our mission extends beyond that. We foresee Hedera playing a crucial role in the evolution of the creator economy, so we want to enhance the experience for all creators on Hedera.

That’s why, together with Hashgraph, we set out to build the Hedera Developer Playground.

The problem we’re solving

The onboarding process has to be as frictionless as possible for the Hedera developer community to grow unhindered. And while Hedera already had amazing tech that empowers developers to let their creativity run free and build powerful products, getting started still required complex local setups and configuration.

The solution: The Hedera Developer Playground

The Playground is an open-source project developed by Hashgraph and Kabila.

It is a browser-based application that developers can use to learn and experiment on the Hedera testnet.

The Playground enables writing, executing, and sharing Java and Javascript code directly in the browser, so there’s no longer a need for complex local setups. And since the application uses familiar languages, it caters to developers of all experience levels, from seasoned Hedera Developers to Web2 developers just starting to learn Web3.

It enables developers to:

  • Access the Hedera Consensus Service, Hedera Token Service, Hedera Smart Service (EVM), accounts and cryptocurrency, scheduled transactions, and other utilities.
  • Perform a variety of transactions and queries.
  • Create individual pieces of code for specific actions or combine them into more complex flows for advanced functionality.
  • Execute and share their code.

Who is it for?

Web2 Developers

Developers who are not yet familiar with Web3 technology can use the Playground as a gateway to Web3 development, using the languages they’re already familiar with: Java and Javascript.

Hedera and Web3 developers

The Playground is not just an onboarding tool. It’s also handy for existing Web3 developers. It speeds up exploration and iteration, enabling users to test new ideas in minutes!

Why it’s Important

The Hedera Developer Playground is a game-changer for developers on Hedera. It enables:

  • Faster Onboarding: Developers can start experimenting on Hedera immediately, without the need for local setup and configuration. This significantly reduces the learning curve and time to value.
  • Improved Efficiency: Ideas are quickly tested and prototyped. Forget about lengthy development cycles - the Playground enables efficient experimentation and iteration.
  • Simplified Exploration: Explore the existing and new Hedera functionalities within your web browser.

Get Started Now!

If you are ready to start building on Hedera, these are the steps to take:

  1. Visit the Hedera Developer Playground: portal.hedera.com/playground
  2. Choose your preferred language: Java or Javascript (more languages will be added in the future).
  3. Start writing and executing code and building flows!
  1. If you want to execute code (interact with the Hedera testnet), you will be prompted to create a Hedera Portal testnet account.

Going Forward

The Playground is just the start of an ongoing collaboration between Hashgraph and Kabila to improve the experience for Hedera developers and grow the developer community. More languages, more features, and more workflows will be added.

With its intuitive interface, open-source nature, and emphasis on rapid experimentation, the Playground enables all developers to explore Hedera and Web3.
